Associated partners

The REFLECT consortium has started to collaborate with several external stakeholders:

BGR - Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources)

BGR is the central geoscientific authority providing advice to the German Federal Government in all geo-relevant questions. It is committed to the sustainable use of natural resources and the protection of the human habitat. As a neutral institution feeling responsible for the future it advises ministries and the European Community and acts as partners in industry and science. The leading motive of its daily work is the Improvement of Living Conditions by Sustainable Use of the Geo-Potentials. In REFLECT, BGR is involved in the data assembly for the European Geothermal Fluid Atlas and provides advice for the set-up of the connected database.

BFS - Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz - Federal Office for Radiation Protection

BfS works for the safety and protection of man and the environment against damage due to ionising and non-ionising radiation. In the field of ionising radiation there are, e. g., X-ray diagnostics in medicine, safety in the handling of radioactive substances in nuclear technology and the protection against enhanced natural radioactivity. In REFLECT, BFS supports the investigation of naturally occurring radioactive material in geothermal fluids.

GEOPRO

The GEOPRO project aims to improve the accuracy and consistency of key thermodynamic and kinetic input data, and the accuracy of the respective Equations of State (and relevant constitutive equations) specifically in order to develop a verified set of robust, user-friendly, flexible and accessible tools to optimize sustainable geothermal reservoir management, power and heat production and reinjection strategies. Since REFLECT and GEOPRO projects have complementary objectives, we seek cooperation and exchange of research results through joined meetings and thematic workshops.
