International Symposium on Geofluids

The ‘International Symposium on Geofluids’ (vGeofluids21) will be held online in July 2021.

Significant geological resources were formed due to the interaction among fluids of different nature and the rocks forming the Earth crust. Research on geofluids has been evolving since the 1980s accompanied by a better understanding of Earth System Science in sustainable development. Since then, fluid geology holds increasing attention compare to traditional solid geology. The fluid-rock-related processes, the geofluids and their interrelationship can be understood using the dynamic system approach, which involves the fluid flow system’s concept and the geologic agency of fluids in the lithosphere.

Geofluid Symposium provides a platform for academic exchange between geofluid and groundwater researchers: understand each other’s research context, research trends and establish a more common language. The Symposium’s declared objective is to bring together scientists, professionals, and stakeholders to share and discuss all kinds of topics in geofluids and groundwater to understand better geothermal energy, hydrocarbon, geogenic contamination and hydrothermal mineral resources. Special emphasis will be placed on geofluid assessment tools and methods, harmonized exploration, geofluid and groundwater utilization. We, therefore, welcome researchers in all aspects of geofluids’ research. The greater the diversity of interests, the more significant will be the result.

The ENeRAG H2020 project organizes the symposium, together with the Eötvös Loránd University, the József and Erzsébet Tóth Endowed Hydrogeology Chair Foundation, the Regional Groundwater Flow, the Managed Aquifer Recharge Commissions and the Hungarian National Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists.

The REFLECT project is a media partner at the International Symposium on Geofluids 2021. Please find more information and registration here.
